There are times when you feel like you are stuck in a confined space with wires all around and there is no way out. People seem to be struggling with their ear phones or charger as a reasonable amount of time is lost to untangle them. In a daily house-hold situation the most common things are: Laptop charger wire , mobile charger wire and an extra plug or a 5 in 1 plug-in device which supports some more sets of wires. Now that’s a lot of wires , isn’t it?

How Wireless Charger works? :

The process by which the “wireless charging” works is known as inductive charging. This process uses magnet induction to transfer energy between the two sources. A brief explanation to this is that , the current coming to the wireless charger plugged in creates a magnetic field , that creates a current in the coil in the device which is connected to the battery & which in turn charges it. The important part which supports wireless charging is the “coil” part attached in the device. Top Smartphone brands like HTC , Samsung , Nokia & some I-phones (using a powermat for I-Phone) have already launched their products with this feature enabled.

  • Ø No wear and tear since no insertion and removal of the USB cable every now and then.
  • Ø In the field of medicine , wireless charging can be used for devices underneath the skin , decreasing the chance for infections caused by wires.
  • Ø No corrosion.
Con’s:
  • Ø Less efficient.
  • Ø Slow.
  • Ø Lots of heat wasted in the process.
Currently this technology is just limited to small devices like mobile phones , tablets etc. But in future we can expect it to grow at a faster pace &using a larger network. Can be used for laptops , personal computers & then on a larger scale. This is a technology which may hold the key to many technological advancements in the distant future.
