Dead Trigger Android I got zombie in my front pocket for you
Dead Trigger Android I got zombie in my front pocket for you
So, the summer drought kicked my ass. I had nothing to review. Now were are getting into the fall months and aside from one new title, I havent had much to go on. And since I felt a blog post about the Library Science crap I am studying would not make for an interesting read, I thought I would talk about something that caught my eye.
If you are like me, you have been following the potential new system coming out called the Ouya. The open source android console. But in the video found on the Kickstarter and the Ouya site in the interface screen there is a option for something called Dead Trigger. I did a little digging and found that most of the options on that screen were just games currently on the android platform, and since I was clawing for something to do, a new zombie game seemed great. The screens shots seemed impressive but how would it hold up on my phone?
DEAD TRIGGER:(Android)

Theres a story in the game. But to be honest, I havent read a lick of it. Why would I? Who in this zombie pop culture world we live in would need me to recap the story in this one? I bet it goes something like this: "There was one zombie, now there is a lot of them. Now you have to shoot guns at them to survive, get supplies, and save people" We all caught up to speed? Great, because if on my phone and its not an RPG, I really could give a damn less what the story is.
Dead Trigger is a first person shooter designed for the mobile phone platforms. It was primarily a Android game but I believe it is available for the Iphone now as well. This definitely lends to play easier on the larger phones such as my HTC One X, Samsung Galaxy S3, or the Iderp 5. You can also play it on tablets pretty well, although using my dads 10 inch tablet it was somewhat hard to control even with my massive hulk hands.

The controls of the game were actually fairly responsive and intuitive. The left lower corner of the screen functions as an analog pad and allows your character to move and strafe with fairly regular FPS controls. On the right side there are a series of buttons: Fire, Reload, Iron Sight. All of them respond rather easily and fluidly to a level I got comfortable with them with ease. The blank area above these buttons you can use to turn the camera which allows you to strafe and circle enemies. What is also handy is while you are holding down the fire button, you can make subtle turns from there as well, allowing you to make adjustments to your shots as you fire.
The graphics in this game are VERY impressive for a game designed for a mobile platform. Id go as far to say that the graphics look almost on par if not better than how games looked on the original PlayStation, Or possibly the PlayStation 2. Actually, Id definitely say PS2, zombies in Dead Trigger were easily much more detailed than the zombies that were found in Resident Evil: Code Veronica, (I know that was on Dreamcast first, but Im using it as a frame of reference. I played it on PS2 first anyways).

The music is really nothing to write home about, but I dont really expect mobile games to have an incredible score. Which is kind of disappointing when I reflect upon it. I can think of a number of SNES games that have amazing soundtracks and they were incredibly fulfilling to the point that they are permanently ingrained in my head. I understand you cant put chiptunes sets into non sprite games these days, but I think if you went a little longer than some droning music loops that are featured in many mobile games, they might be a more satisfying experience. Sorry, Im getting off track.
Generally, the missions have been broken down into three main categories: Hunt, Survive, Retrieve. Up to where I have played, the goals are simple and not usually much variety to the rules. All of them involve gunning down zombies, just sometimes you have a set number to kill, number of minutes to wait, or go to point A and back to B. I havent been playing many of the story missions yet though so perhaps that will change.

While I am not much of a first person shooter type of guy, I am really getting into this game. Its not frustrating to play and it the levels are the perfect length for the mobile platform. Its something you can whip out and play with for a few minutes and be able to come back to it. Yes some of the levels get a bit repetitive but as I said I havent been playing the story mode so much so that could change. The best part about it the game is free to download on both IOS and Android so if youve got a newer smartphone that has the power to run it, I would suggest giving it a download.

DEATHWING GOT KILLED
DEATHWING GOT KILLED
Yesterday I found out very disturbing news. Richy told me that DeathWings accounts got hacked and clan RP, which was the meeting place for both TFT and ROC communities, disbanned. DeathWing didnt name the ones that he suspects to be behind this. He obviously didnt do that because he has to act like head of Replayers and not like normal human being who has the luxury to feel and blame. Well, I have.
We all well know that it is not the first time stuff like this happen. People who think that they can change the customs that our community had set up years ago by erasing the figure that are blowing the wind in their direction act like criminals. Or better, murders who are aiming to kill the virtual characters who symbolize one way of thinking. Way of thinking that is way different than theirs. So dont get upset and dramatized by the title of this post. Deathwing indeed got killed yesterday when he lost his accounts on which he built up his name.
I am not going to be so kind and official like DeathWing was in his post on Replayers. Hell no! This blog was made for other purpose which is not taking sides at all costs. Always objective to the level of impossible, supporting good ideas and people who are hardly trying to become better by being more creative and putting more efforts in stuff they do rather than putting all efforts in pushing those who are different than them into the deep black hole.
So what the hell did they think when they changed his passwords yesterday? That he will be so demoralized that he wont be able to come out of bed for the next 3 months? That he is going to visit therapist 5 times a week to beat the trauma that they caused? That he is going to put an end on his work on Replayers and events that bring him more attention than they can ever get? That he is going to come to them on his knees, begging them to give him his accounts back because that is the only thing in his life that is worth something?
Maybe they did. Maybe because, if they found themselves in same situation they would act like I described in the lines above. I believe they would because they shown to us that ever since they started to symbolize something they are doing full time. Not having ONE free weekend for the past year and a half, putting everything they have without even having the fun, they cant stand someone being more attractive than them.
Yes I am talking about trolls and I am talking about troll hb.thespecial who stands behind 99% of bad things that happen in this community. Are you asking which bad things? I am going to write down only few of them which are well known to you guys. So you dont forget.
1. using his minion Ghost to CHANGE PASSWORDS IN REPLAYERS DATABASE and inserting and infinite script - hack into an image which made website crash,
2. fully SUPPORTING SPAMMER MELWIN and using him to spam the channels such as w3 and nS, letting him to stay a member of his monster-look website while writing in the bottom of that same website how their policy is to ban the hackers.
3. Again using Ghost or someone else to HACK INTO MY ACCOUNT right after I published the POST in which I exposed their dirty actions toward Replayers.
List goes on. Still, this wont change the fact that some of you guys are still supporting these hackers, account crackers, there are not enough bad names to make a good call, by visiting that monster-look site and playing those events with weirdo names to get a low class Chinese valet.
This community is getting molested on daily basis. There was never so much contained anger from one side. In the past we had different websites and different opinions. It used to be 5 times bigger community than this one with 5 times more players. Never, never in the past we had a chance to witness a horror like this.
Websites getting hacked, channels getting spammed, accounts getting stolen. What the hell is going on? And when is the end of this bad movie? The director is the troll hb.thespecial.
I am using this opportunity, because I cannot join that troll channel ever since I started spreading the truth about troll, his lair and loyal minions, to DEMAND from this wannabe to give back accounts that he stole yesterday to its owner, DeathWing.
Listen troll, by taking something that doesnt belong to you, no matter how hard you live into that role, you cant be that. You cant have that website and you cant live that life. I am deeply sorry but you came too late with too many allready seen stuff that were based on some other peoples ideas. No matter how hard you try you will always be second class. It is time to accept who you are and to go back on the right path. Enough with hacking and destroying other peoples work. Enough with killing the only healthy thing that left in this community - good spirit.
If the troll doesnt give back the goods he stole we can only hope that someone else who is involved in this will speak out because this is not about picking two grey sides of the story. It is black or white.
