There is a TV show entitled Dear White People that is not doing too well and enraged quite a few people. Some went on to complain and stated imagine if the show was titled Dear Black People!? Im sure it would cause an outrage. The main actress Tessa Thompson spoke out against hate but not everyone is hating its 50/50. Tessa said its not an anti-white show and is satire. She told the people who interviewed her that the show is necessary because there are racist people out there and some did tweet some racist abuse towards her on Twitter and she wants people to know that racism exists.
The trailer was watched by 4,571,859 people and was given 54,091 thumbs up and 407,594 thumbs down. Some people got so upset that they even wanted to cancel their subscription to Netflix. Me? I dont pay companies for TV. Once upon a time. I just pay regular TV licence. Im poor you think Ive got money to burn? HELL NO! But yeah it made people angry. I dont know who but a lot of people were tweeting angry tweets on Twitter. I dont know if they still are because I dont use Twitter. But you can look up the tweets and see but I cant be asked I seen a few and thought **** that because I have better things to do than spend hours looking at tweets only the main tweets and news matters to me to go along with me blogging this post.
Like I always say...to some people who run off their mouths a little too much: Well if youve got a cutie whos a real sweet patootie better keep it under your hat Just remember curiosity in fables of old killed the curious cat! I really think Tessa shouldnt have responded as shes only fueled the fire. But then again she is entitled to speak her mind and she is the main cast member of course so obviously anything said about the show will effect her because she is the star of it. Would I watch the TV show? Of course I find it to be satire too. You know there are a lot of TV series and so on that mock black people and that is dubbed satire so why cant this? But yeah probably best not to reference RACE when making a TV show because people today are fussy. Its best to keep race out of anything because people as said before are so easily offended. Some of them dont mind mouthing off racist crap but then when it comes to push and shove who is the one feeling down n out? Hmm!? * Sips Lemon ice tea with pink straw.

In January, a major publisher (Holt, an imprint of Macmillan), released Arctic White, a picture book by Danna Smith. Heres the synopsis:
When you live in the Arctic in winter, everything is a shade of white.
A young girl looks around her home in the Arctic and sees only white, white, white...but one day her grandfather takes her on a journey through the tundra. And at the end of their cold walk across the ice, they find something special that brings color into their world.
The reviewer at Kirkus writes that the setting and culture arent clear. Heres part of that review:
A modern paint box, a bound book, and a flashlight, together with the second-person, present-tense address (placing readers inside the story), imply a contemporary setting, but this girl lives a nonindustrialized life in an iglu, even though most contemporary indigenous Arctic people live in houses. The lack of any specific indigenous nation and some faux Native philosophy��Grandfather says hope is golden. You can only see it when you look into a snowy owl�s eyes��add to the romanticized Native image. Jan Bourdeau Waboose�s SkySisters (2000), an Ojibwe story about walking across tundra to see the northern lights, is a better choice.
I absolutely love SkySisters and am thrilled to see Kirkus sending readers to it instead! If I get a copy of Arctic White and read it, Ill be back with a review. For now, I think Id agree with the Kirkus review.
