Durante os anos 80 e 90, jogadores de PCs tinham, al�m de v�rios jogos gloriosos, vers�es de demonstra��o desses t�tulos que criavam a possibilidade de test�-los antes de compr�-los. Nessa �poca, revistas de games reinavam absolutas, com seus CD-ROMs e disquetes com demos de cl�ssicos, como Doom, Heretic, Descent, Grand Prix, Age of Empires e The Settlers.
O tempo passou e, com a chegada do PlayStation, vieram tamb�m aqueles lend�rios CDs com diversas demos que acompanhavam o console. Com eles, era poss�vel testar jogos de corrida, luta e aventura. Como eram apenas demonstra��es, eles eram extremamente limitados, mas ainda conseguiam divertir e apresentar como seriam os games que seriam lan�ados para o console da Sony.
Antigamente, demos pareciam �inofensivas� e cumpriam com o seu prop�sito de dar um gostinho do jogo final para os jogadores tempos antes do seu lan�amento. Ser� que hoje em dia elas continuam desse jeito ou se tornaram um meio de �enganar� os gamers para que eles comprem o jogo completo? Mostraremos algumas vantagens e desvantagens desta pr�tica que virou costume dentro da ind�stria de games.
Conhecendo novos jogos
Em �pocas nos quais dezenas de jogos s�o lan�ados mensalmente, � dif�cil decidir qual game merece o seu tempo e suado dinheiro. Geralmente, os t�tulos de maior destaque (os chamados AAA) acabam ofuscando outros n�o t�o grandiosos, mas que nem por isso s�o piores. Voc�, ent�o, acessa a PSN ou a Xbox LIVE e v� uma nova demo de um jogo no qual voc� n�o prestou muita aten��o.
Binary Domain surpreendeu com a sua demo acima da m�dia
Depois de ter feito o download, voc� testa a demonstra��o e v� ali um t�tulo que pode se tornar o seu favorito, seja pela jogabilidade ou estilo apresentado. Sem a demo, voc� possivelmente n�o daria uma chance para o game, deixando-o passar despercebido.
Mudan�as podem ser percebidas antes do lan�amento
Digamos que um novo jogo da s�rie FIFA ou PES esteja sendo desenvolvido e que novas fun��es e melhorias est�o sendo anunciadas. Depois de anos em que isso acontecia e, no m�ximo, voc� percebia um gr�fico melhorado no jogo final, atrav�s de demos voc� pode experimentar essas novidades e ver se elas valem a pena.
Mas nem tudo � maravilhoso no mundo das demos de jogos e, tirando esses dois motivos citados acima, todo o resto parece uma grande brincadeira �s custas dos jogadores.
Por que preciso gastar 2 GB de espa�o por uma fase?
� compreens�vel que, com o avan�o da tecnologia, os jogos (e, subsequentemente, suas demos) foram ficando grandes demais para, por exemplo, caber em um simples disquete (algu�m ainda usa disquetes?).S� que se voc� levar em considera��o que um jogo inteiro pode caber em um DVD de camada dupla (aproximadamente 9 GB) para rodar em um Xbox 360, por que a demo dele, com apenas um pequeno peda�o do game, precisa de 2 GB do seu HD?
Pode ser tudo uma quest�o de programa��o e que o restante do conte�do seja mais compacto, mas, em muitos casos, a vontade de esperar o download de GB para uma demo que dura no m�ximo 20 minutos � m�nima. Fora que � necess�rio muito espa�o no disco r�gido para suportar jogos completos, DLCs e demos de v�rios GBs.
Poderiam ter somente divulgado um novo trailer do jogo
Voc� baixou uma demo relativamente grande e entrou nela para testar o jogo. Usaremos como exemplo a demo do game Asuras Wrath. Voc� aperta Start e escolhe um dos cap�tulos do jogo presentes. Aqui, voc� n�o tem no��o alguma de quem s�o os personagens ou sobre do que o game se trata.Isso � normal, seria apenas mais uma demo focada na jogabilidade. S� que a quantidade de cutscenes, comparadas com momentos em que voc� realmente est� fazendo alguma coisa, � absurda, e voc� acaba assistindo ao jogo em vez de jog�-lo. Apesar de ter uma breve experi�ncia com os controles, � dif�cil at� falar que voc� testou o t�tulo.
Por que t�o limitado?
Existem jogos diretos e que apresentam tudo o que podem oferecer (em uma escala menor) em suas demos. Mas existem tamb�m aqueles t�tulos que t�m em suas diversas fun��es o seu grande trunfo. Um belo exemplo s�o jogos com multiplayer. Apesar de existirem exce��es, a maioria das demos � �capada�.Al�m de ter uma parcela �nfima do conte�do final, op��es que poderiam vender melhor o jogo s�o exclu�das. Os motivos para isso s�o aceit�veis, mas n�o tem algo mais frustrante do que ver uma op��o como �Multiplayer� e n�o conseguir acess�-la, recebendo uma mensagem de �Somente na vers�o completa�. Como voc� saber� se o recurso, de fato, presta?
Baixe o jogo. Jogue a demo.
Uma pr�tica muito comum na PSN: ao baixar uma demo de um jogo, voc� na verdade est� salvando no seu HD o jogo em quest�o completo. Voc� joga um trecho do game e, se quiser continuar, basta pagar e baixar um pequeno arquivo que destrava todo o conte�do.A ideia � boa, mas existem dois problemas: o j� citado tamanho do download (voc� tem que baixar o jogo inteiro, mesmo se for apenas para testar a sua demonstra��o) e a quantidade de demos (ou �trial�, se preferir), que s�o extremamente limitadas, tentando obrigar o jogador a comprar o game.
Um belo exemplo disso � Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode 2. Voc� baixa o jogo completo, mas tem apenas a vers�o Trial. Inicialmente, voc� pensa que pelo menos a primeira fase estar� dispon�vel para saber como est�o os gr�ficos e a movimenta��o do personagem, assim como algumas novidades.
Ent�o, voc� come�a em uma fase um pouco mais al�m na hist�ria, s� que, ap�s dois minutos de jogo (insuficientes at� para o veloz ouri�o terminar o est�gio), a demo simplesmente acaba. Quer continuar? Compre o jogo. Isso consegue ser muito frustrante, tirando at� a vontade de jogar.
Bom ou ruim? Voc� decide
Demos de jogos s�o algo que j� fazem parte da ind�stria de games e n�o sumir�o. A diferen�a entre elas � o quanto as empresas est�o dispostas a mostrar dos t�tulos antes de eles serem lan�ados.Assim como imagens e trailers, demos s�o mais uma ferramenta utilizada por distribuidoras para divulgar seus games e devem continuar com o mesmo esquema de conte�do visto atualmente.
Algumas consideram mostrar os seus t�tulos para ati�ar a vontade dos jogadores, enquanto outras lan�am demonstra��es que servem apenas para manter o jogo na mente dos poss�veis futuros compradores. Resta saber o quanto isso incomoda voc�.

Deer Hunter 2005 was released for PC in 2004. More modern games are not simple base of entertainment, somewhat these will need some knowledge to play and win. Thermal View
A full-screen thermal view for the player can provide not only a different experience but one similar to the alien creature of the "Predator" films. While playing the game, press the tilde key to bring up the cheat menu. Enter in "/cheat predator" and press the "Enter" key. You will now be able to access the Thermal View in full screen.
